Mindy Way-Johnson, Director of Heritage Ringers and Children’s Bell Choirs

Mindy Way-Johnson first experienced handbells in Jr. High. “Our new pastor brought a set of handbells with him! Since then, I have been involved as a ringer or director almost continuously. I love the sound of handbells and the music they create. But I love even more the relationships that develop in bell choirs. I have been a church musician most of my life; directing singing and bell choirs and playing piano and organ. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD and a Master of Sacred Music from Luther Seminary in St. Paul. Currently, I am the music teacher at Central Park Elementary School in Roseville. My husband, Terry, is a guidance counselor at Roseville Area High School. We live in St Anthony Village and have 3 children. Drew lives in St Paul and is working on an elementary education degree. Sam is a student at UMD and is working on a music education degree. Emmalee is a student at Luther College and is also working on a music education degree. I feel very fortunate to be working with the bell choirs at FAUMC. I have never encountered a more friendly and supportive congregation.”
